What happens to your details when you get in touch with KSM Carpet Cleaning, and what this website does and does not collect.

I am Mark McGuinness, trading as KSM Carpet Cleaning. I clean carpets, stairs and halls around Falkirk, and this page explains what happens to your details when you get in touch.

It is short, because this website is deliberately simple. There is no contact form, no account to create and no database. Nothing you do on this site is recorded by it.

Who is responsible for your data

Mark McGuinness, trading as KSM Carpet Cleaning, a sole trader.

What this website collects

Nothing.

There is no form on this site. The buttons are a phone link, a WhatsApp link and an email link, all of which hand you over to your own phone or mail app. The site itself stores nothing and sets no cookies.

What I collect when you get in touch

Once you call, message or email me, I have whatever you sent me. In practice that is:

  • your name and phone number
  • your email address, if you email
  • the address or postcode of the property
  • any photographs of the carpet you send me
  • whatever else you tell me about the job

I use it for one thing: to price the work, to do the work, and to deal with anything afterwards. In data protection terms that is taking steps towards a contract with you, and my legitimate interest in running the business.

I do not send marketing. I do not buy or sell contact details, and I never pass yours to anyone for marketing.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp is the easiest way to send me a photograph, and it is the channel most enquiries arrive on. It is worth knowing that WhatsApp is Meta’s service, so your message and any photograph pass through Meta’s systems on the way to my phone, under their terms and their privacy policy rather than mine.

If you would rather that did not happen, ring me or email me instead. Both work just as well.

How long I keep it

[ still to confirm: how long enquiries are kept, and how long paperwork is kept ]

Invoices and records I have to keep for tax are kept for as long as HMRC requires. Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted once they are clearly not going anywhere.

Who else sees it

  • My accountant, where the job appears in the books.
  • Nobody else, unless I am legally required to hand something over.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • tell you what I hold about you
  • correct it if it is wrong
  • delete it, where I am not required to keep it
  • stop using it for a particular purpose

Ask me and I will deal with it. If you are not happy with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, which is the UK regulator for this.

Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is nothing to consent to, which is why you have not been asked to.

If that changes, this page will change with it and you will be asked before anything is loaded. Nothing that tracks you will ever run on this site before you have agreed to it.

Changes to this page

If I change how any of this works I will change this page. It was last updated on the date of the most recent change to the site.
